Contract negotiations for Vinicius Junior
Real Madrid have presented an enhanced contract offer to Vinicius Junior. The Brazil international’s current agreement with the Spanish club is set to conclude at the end of the upcoming season. Discussions between the player’s representatives and Real Madrid’s general director Jose Angel Sanchez, along with chief scout Juni Calafat, took place in the Spanish capital on Wednesday.
Previously, there were notable financial disparities between the two parties. Reports from earlier in the year indicated that Vinicius Junior was seeking an annual package in the region of €30 million. This figure was understood to include a base salary, performance-related add-ons, and a renewal bonus, with the bonus being a key point of contention in the negotiations.
Initially, Real Madrid had been reluctant to meet these financial demands. However, sources familiar with Wednesday’s discussions suggest that the club has now increased its offer. This revised proposal is said to reflect Vinicius Junior’s significance to the team and its future plans. The player now faces a decision regarding whether to extend his contract with the club he joined in 2018, consider free agency next summer, or explore an opportunity presented by Arsenal.
Last week, it was reported that Arsenal’s ownership had approved pursuing a potential deal for the 26-year-old. He is understood to be a primary target for the reigning Premier League champions, who aim to bolster their forward line.

(Mourinho) wants me to be just as I’ve always been: happy, positive, and playing my own style of football.”
Sources close to the player indicated that he had no issues with Mourinho’s arrival as the club’s new manager, despite earlier comments made by the 63-year-old about Vinicius Junior. The Brazil forward’s decision on his future is expected to be imminent.
