Rangers face Motherwell at Ibrox Stadium today. Mikey Moore will not start due to recent training struggles.
As of early Tuesday, Danny Röhl confirmed that Moore missed training sessions over the past two weeks. This has led to his omission from the starting XI.
Röhl stated, “Mikey was the last 14 days more out than in the training sessions, but it looks in the last two days much, much better.” His presence on the bench could still provide an impact later in the match.
Rangers are participating in their 127th Scottish Premiership match. They won their last game 6-3 against Falkirk.
Motherwell, on the other hand, are playing their 112th Scottish Premiership match. They lost their last game 3-1 against Hearts.
The last meeting between these two teams ended in a 1-1 draw. Today’s match kicks off at 15:00.
In Rangers’ starting lineup, Bojan Miovski and Dujon Sterling are included. Jack Butland will serve as the goalkeeper.
Moore’s absence raises questions about his future role in the squad. Yet, Röhl emphasized that having him available on the bench is beneficial for tactical flexibility.
Moore’s ability to influence late-game scenarios has been noted by Röhl: “I know when we’re playing Mikey there’s also an impact on the stadium which helps in the last minutes in such a game as well.”
Substitutes for Rangers include both Mikey Moore and Liam Kelly. The team looks to build on their recent success against Falkirk while overcoming Motherwell’s challenges today.
The outcome of this match could be pivotal for both teams as they navigate through this season of the Scottish Premiership.
