peep show matt king — GB news

Matt King, known for his role as Super Hans in Peep Show, revealed he was temporarily paralyzed after a rare spinal stroke. The incident occurred on Sunday, and he was hospitalized at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

King, 58 years old, stated, “It’s true. I had a rare stroke of the spinal cord on Sunday.” He described his condition as initially debilitating. “I was rushed to The Royal Sussex and the staff have been amazing,” he added.

A spinal stroke accounts for only 1.25 percent of all strokes. This rare condition significantly impacted his mobility. Fortunately, he has regained some ability to walk. King expressed relief saying, “Can walk again, a bit. My legs were jelly, man. It didn’t feel f***ing brilliant.”

Fans of Peep Show may recall that King portrayed Super Hans from 2003 to 2015. The show achieved cult status during its 12-year run. Recently, he participated in a festive edition of Bake Off related to the series.

In addition to acting, King has also pursued a DJ career and stand-up comedy. He thanked fans for their support during this challenging time: “Thank you for all the love and kindness.”

The Brain & Spine Foundation offers resources related to conditions like his. Further updates on his recovery are anticipated as he continues to regain strength.
