Nigel Farage revealed that his home was firebombed in early 2025. This incident highlights the dangers he faces as a politician.

The petrol bomb attack occurred shortly before a series of arson attacks on properties linked to Sir Keir Starmer. Police investigated the incident but have not identified any suspects.

Farage previously faced violence during the 2024 general election campaign when he was attacked with a milkshake by Victoria Thomas Bowen. Bowen received a 13-week prison sentence and a 12-month suspended sentence for the assault.

In response to security threats, Farage received a £5 million gift from billionaire Christopher Harborne specifically for security purposes. He stated there is no obligation to declare this amount in the register of interests for MPs.

The Conservatives have referred Farage to the parliamentary standards commissioner regarding this financial gift. He argues that he has faced more physical attacks than any other politician in modern times.

The House of Commons code of conduct mandates that new MPs register all financial interests within one month of their election. Farage’s situation raises questions about compliance with these rules.

Farage expressed frustration over the scrutiny of his finances, stating, “I would rather not be discussing any of this but I am having to because someone has got hold of material about my private finances, which is outrageous, and which I believe was illegally obtained.” He added, “There are huge dangers in this job.”
