Row K is currently facing a leadership crisis as senior executives, including Megan Colligan, are reportedly in talks to leave the company. This development comes in the wake of significant financial losses, including a staggering $10 million loss from the January release of ‘Dead Man’s Wire’.
The company, which is backed by Media Capital Technologies (MCT), is reappraising its business model to address these challenges. In a recent move, Row K acquired four films at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), but the future of these projects remains uncertain.
One of the films, ‘Poetic License’, is set to return to the market after being championed by Colligan, who is now contemplating her exit. The company has scheduled the release of ‘Cliffhanger’ on August 28, 2025, and ‘Charlie Harper’ on September 25, 2025, but the viability of these releases is in question.
In a separate incident, emergency services were called to a fire at Inferno, a sun bed business on the Antrim Road, at around 7 PM. Cathy Toal, a witness, stated, “I got a call at about 7 PM about the fire. When I got here, the place was cordoned off and the fire service were here already.” Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, in a positive development, Sean Phelps and Jonny Towers successfully completed a 3,200-mile rowing challenge from Lanzarote to Antigua. The duo arrived a day ahead of schedule, greeted by cheering crowds. They have raised £15,928.84 towards their £50,000 target for charities Care After Combat and Samaritans.
Sean expressed his pride in the endeavor, stating, “I think it’s an amazing thing to do and I’ve watched a few events and I want to just make my family proud of that, proud of their dad and husband.” Jonny added, “To support the two great charities we’re doing it for – Care After Combat and Samaritans – we’ve both lost friends through mental health problems and suicide.”
As Row K navigates these turbulent waters, the future of its leadership and projects remains uncertain. Observers are closely watching how the company will adapt to its financial challenges and the potential impact on its upcoming film releases.
