Previously, families in the UK had limited options for experiencing the magic of Lapland, often relying on expensive package holidays or long journeys to reach the snowy wonderland. However, a significant shift is on the horizon.
Starting December 13, 2026, airBaltic will launch a weekly service from Manchester to Kuusamo in Finnish Lapland, marking the first regular scheduled flights from the city to this enchanting destination. With a seating capacity of 148 on airBaltic’s Airbus A220-300 aircraft, fares will start at £120 one-way in Economy and £309 in Business Class.
In tandem with this new flight service, LaplandUK is set to run its immersive experience from November 7 to December 24, 2026. This attraction, located at Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield, promises to deliver a magical experience, with ticket prices ranging from £60 to £195.
The immersive experience at LaplandUK lasts around four and a half hours, during which families will be greeted by hundreds of elves and performers in a snow-covered landscape. Every child will leave with a gift from Father Christmas, ensuring a memorable holiday experience.
Last year, the event’s popularity led to expectations of over one million people queuing for tickets when they go live this week, with tickets anticipated to sell out in hours. This surge in interest highlights the growing demand for unique holiday experiences in the UK.
LaplandUK has also invested an additional £30 million into its Cheshire site, further enhancing the attraction’s offerings. This investment underscores the commitment to providing families with a magical experience right outside Greater Manchester.
Experts suggest that the combination of affordable flights and immersive local experiences could redefine holiday travel for families, making the dream of visiting Lapland more accessible than ever.
As the holiday season approaches, the excitement surrounding Lapland Manchester is palpable, with families eager to embrace the festive spirit in a new and exciting way.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact number of flights and their frequency, but the anticipation is building as the launch date approaches.
